This is a comfortable holiday apartment with a balcony on an elaborately restored farm. The generous property stands absolutely alone, surrounded by fields, between Campen and Upleward, to the west of Emden. Cycling and hiking paths criss-cross the whole area and the seemingly endless expanse of East Frisia, the Campen lighthouse, as well as the tidal flats national park (UNESCO world natural heritage site) are right on the doorstep. Owing to the quiet location in the countryside, just a kilometre from the embankment, the accommodation is especially recommended for nature lovers and dog owners, as well as families with children.
The middle part of the barn was converted into a large “village square” with a gallery above, accessed up large outdoor stairs. You can sit together sociably in the village square with a cool beer or a glass of wine. Other useful rooms that branch off it are the children’s playroom, the table football room and the dog shower. There is a car parking space right by the house.
The access to the Manslagt holiday apartment is through the elaborate gallery at the heart of the sociable barn wing. It is an attic apartment completed in 2017, with a balcony, providing 77m2 of living space, but which appears more spacious owing to its sloping ceilings. The apartment has a modern interior, comprising a large living room with an open kitchen, two double bedrooms, each with a TV, as well as a generous shower room and an integrated storage room. The living room is extended by a loggia set into the roof, from which you can enjoy the expanse of East Frisia. You can relax in the living room on the comfortable leather sofa, after a day trip, with the LCD flatscreen TV providing entertainment in the evening. One of the double bedrooms is furnished with a double bed (180 x 200cm), the other with two single beds (90 x 200cm), and both have a flatscreen TV, wardrobes and dressers with ample storage space. In front of the open cooking space there is the dining table with six comfortable armchairs. The kitchen enables convenient and comprehensive self-catering with a dishwasher, ceramic hob and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, milk frother and many utensils. There is a shower room with a large walk-in shower cubicle, a towel radiator, a WC and a washbasin. Free Wi-Fi Internet access, a washing machine and underfloor heating round off the amenities.
Your holiday accommodation is about 15km to the north-west of Emden, amidst the Krummhörn strip of land with its 19 terp villages that look back on a history of more than 1000 years. It starts to the north-west of the old harbour town Emden and runs directly along the coast from the Ems estuary to the picturesque holiday town Greetsiel with its famous twin windmills. Many farms, historical windmills and lighthouses characterize the landscape, as well as salt marshes, the Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer national park and countless little canals. The North Sea with a dry beach and swimming, as well as the Campen lighthouse, are within a 1500-metre walk. You can buy fresh bread rolls at the nearby neighbouring village Campen (1.9km), right next to the Agriculture Museum. In Pewsum about 4km away you can find the nearest grocery shop, as well as a range of everyday amenities (e.g. bank, general doctor etc.). 10km to the west there is the romantic fishing village Greetsiel, an absolute tourist magnet. Many places of interest in the area are worth a trip by car or bike, along with the Krummhörn panorama.

The barn wing (originally from 1803) and the main house (1849) were restored in accordance with historical details and extensively renovated.
