Chesa Cuntainta

Quiet and centrally located 4.5 room apartment in the first floor, facing south-west. The apartment is well adapted to family needs, has a separate kitchen, a generous dining/living room with a wood stove and a small balcony facing south. Wi-Fi available. The apartment has no television but otherwise meets all criteria of 3 star standard. Altogether, there are seven beds.
Parking in the garage of the nearby hotel Giardino Mountain. The house Chesa Cuntainta is located in a traffic-calmed area. Cross-country ski run, hiking trails, bicycle tracks, riding stable as well as the bus stop, restaurant, children’s playground, grocery and winter sports / fishing equipment shop are all located within the village in 2-5 minutes walking distance. A large variety of further possibilities of summer- and winter-sport activities for people of 1-99 years is easily accessible by public transport or by car.

Excursion possibilities: What mountains. What lakes. What light! Whether on the 580km (360 miles) of hiking paths strewn over all the mountains or by mountain bike along 400km (250 miles) of fabulous trails: the Upper Engadin offers a superb network of paths and trails amidst an unspoilt Alpine landscape and the inspiring lake plateau. Three flow trails on the Corviglia guarantee a perfect flow. Equally popular among sports enthusiasts are the Upper Engadin lakes; kiting, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddling – the possibilities are virtually endless. The expanse of the inspiring high-lying valley can be experienced in a particularly striking way on the two 18-hole golf courses in Samedan and Zuoz. And besides the wide range of sporting options, visitors can take advantage of the first-class cultural activities on offer, such as a visit to a museum or to one of the numerous art galleries in the various villages.
In winter, the ski areas of Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza and family-friendly Zuoz invite ski and snowboard enthusiasts to revel in 350 kilometres (218 miles) of the finest powder snow. Cross-country skiers will find over 220km (137 miles) of perfectly groomed trails in the Upper Engadin and the side valleys. The winter hiking paths and cross-country ski trails on the frozen Upper Engadin lakes are characterised by their light, sunshine and space amidst inspiring Alpine scenery. Those who would like to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can explore the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever on 150 kilometres (90 miles) of winter hiking paths. Visitors who prefer to have everything in view, meanwhile, will delight in the breathtaking vistas on the panorama hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl.
Families can bask in the Engadin sun during a ride in a horse-drawn carriage into the Val Roseg or Val Fex, or race down the mountainside into the valley on the winding, 4.2km (2.6 mile) long toboggan run on Muottas Muragl.

Summer: Benefiting the most from the reliable Maloja wind are, of course, the wind- and kitesurfers; here they can enjoy the best conditions for their sport far and wide. However, mountain bikers and hikers, too, will find an abundance of possibilities right on their hotel doorstep. And those who really want to switch off can get themselves a fishing rod and go off fishing. Equally as varied as the range of sports activities is the local hotel and gastronomy scene, which also presents itself as being agreeably young and trendy.
Winter: On its doorstep, the towering Corvatsch offers unlimited winter sports options. But this is only one reason why Silvaplana has become a magnet for outdoor activity fans: it is also a paradise for snowkiting. Since this spectacular sport was invented on frozen Lake Silvaplana, enthusiasts from all over the world have flocked here to take advantage of the Maloja wind that builds up almost every day around noon until it has the kites dancing across the blue Engadin sky and skimming at speed across the plateau.
